BACKGROUND:
Vegetation management is a vital component of land stewardship within the 2,900-acre Clark County Wetlands Park. This Interlocal Agreement with the National Park Service (NPS) Exotic Plant Management Team will support efforts to:
* Inventory and treat non-native and noxious weed species;
* Conduct ecological restoration, including post-fire recovery; and
* Advance long-term habitat restoration and management goals.
This agreement is a continuation of services previously authorized by the Board of County Commissioners on September 5, 2017, and June 15, 2021, and is structured to begin upon expiration of the current agreement to ensure uninterrupted service.
Project work will be performed across two key areas:
1. The In-Lieu Fee Wetlands Mitigation Area, and
2. The greater Wetlands Park area.
Though the areas are distinct, the services are interrelated and will be delivered under a unified scope of work. This will improve efficiency and reduce costs by streamlining operations and sharing resources.
The initial term of the agreement will be for one year, with the option to renew for three additional one-year terms, which allows for the continuation of vital vegetation management and restoration services.
