BACKGROUND: 

As the only Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Innovation Airport, Harry Reid International Airport's innovation checkpoint is continually updated to test the latest technology. K2 Construction Consultants, Inc. dba K2 Security Screening Group (Company) will decommission and remove no longer supported x-ray and automatic screening lane equipment and replace them with new technology while ensuring minimal impact to passenger screening.

Company will deploy new state-of-the-art threat detection systems. The project includes upgrading on-person screening units by replacing them with faster and more efficient scanning equipment. Older walk-through metal detectors (WTMDs) will be replaced with the latest TSA approved WTMDs, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with current security standards. 

The term is from date of award through completion of project (expected to be December 31, 2026), at a not to exceed cost of $27,021,259.00.

Pursuant to NRS 332.115(1)(b) and (j) this contract is not adapted to award by competitive solicitation as it is for equipment containing hardware or software for computers, and NRS 332.115(3)(a) because the equipment will be used by TSA to prevent acts of terrorism. Equipment must be TSA-approved, and Company has been a trusted partner of the TSA since its inception.

The contract has been approved as to form by the District Attorney's Office. Company holds a Clark County vendor registration.
