BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Moapa: Sim Street between Marley Way and Warm Springs Road project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing Direct Distribution for Fiscal Year 2027.

Interlocal Contract No. 3291 provides funds for construction of the subject project in Moapa. This project consists of roadway improvements on Sim Street between Marley Way and Warm Springs Road. Such improvements include the removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, signage, and pavement markings within the existing right-of way. The design for the project was funded by Clark County. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained. The term of the contract is effective until December 31, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3291 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on July 13, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
