BACKGROUND:
On May 18, 2023, the Clark County Regional Flood Control District (RFCD) entered into an interlocal contract with Clark County to provide funding for construction, construction management, and entity construction management labor for the Flamingo Wash between Maryland Parkway and Palos Verdes Street project (No. PW.FCLA04Z). The Board of County Commissioners approved the interlocal contract on June 20, 2023.
On June 11, 2024, bids were opened for the project to improve Flamingo Wash between Maryland Parkway and Palos Verdes Street. The bids significantly exceeded the allocated funding amount. The County rejected the bids and is splitting the project into two phases. Supplemental No. 1 to the interlocal contract will reduce the scope of the project to only include the first phase between Cambridge Street and Maryland Parkway, and Tropicana Wash Improvements with ID miles FLWA 0621, FLWA 0622, FLWA 0623, and FLWA 0642.
The time of performance remains effective until June 30, 2028, unless time extensions are granted.
RFCD approved the first supplemental contract at its meeting on October 10, 2024.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the first supplemental contract as to form.
