The initial Contract amount was $1,680,000, Amendment No. 1 will have no fiscal impact. The Contract amount is subject to change based on the volume of participants in the program, which is controlled by the Courts, and approved budget appropriations. |
BACKGROUND:
On August 11, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606243-22 for Forensic Drug Testing to Sober Testing Services LLC (SBE) in the amount of $1,680,000 for automated drug testing software that integrates all steps involved in monitoring participants for drug use; scheduling a test, tracking chain of custody, barcoding specimens, testing specimen and reporting test results electronically.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract was from date of award through June 30, 2023 and included the option to renew for 4, one-year periods. There are 3 renewal options remaining.
• Included the option to increase the award amount up to 6% for possible price increases for renewal terms.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for additional drug testing services and price increases. The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.
Sober Testing Services LLC currently holds a Clark County Business License.
