BACKGROUND: 

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Spring Mountain Road between Rainbow Boulevard and Decatur Boulevard project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3257 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The work to be performed on Spring Mountain Road between Rainbow Boulevard and Decatur Boulevard includes roadway mill and overlay, traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) improvements, traffic signage, streetlight upgrades, pavement markings, utility adjustments, and other miscellaneous improvements. The design for the project was funded by Clark County. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained. The term of the contract is effective until June 30, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3257 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on March 12, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
