Approve the acceptance of the modified grant award from the Department of Health and Human Services - Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, to fund Children's Mental Health Initiative program in the amount of $2,634,952.00 effective September 30, 2023 through September 29, 2027; approve and authorize the continuation of one (1) grant funded limited permanent full time position: one (1) Family Services Specialist II (C28); and approve and authorize the creation of one (1) grant funded limited permanent full time position Youth & Adult Intervention Specialist II (C29) for the period during which the grant funds are available; authorize the Director to sign any additional grant documents and accept any funds awarded. BACKGROUND:
On March 21, 2023 The Department of Family Services submitted a grant application to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Mental Health Services, for Expansion and Sustainability of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children with Serious Emotional Disturbances.
On April 18, 2023 the Board of County Commissioners (BOARD) approved the grant application to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Mental Health Services, for Expansion and Sustainability of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children with Serious Emotional Disturbances. This approval allowed for the creation of one (1) Family Services Specialist II (C28) to support the program implementation.
This item will add one (1) Youth & Adult Intervention Specialist II (C29) and update the cash match to $1,205,523.00.
Staff requests that the Board ratify the acceptance of the modified grant award and accept the funds awarded.
