BACKGROUND:
The Cashman Good Government Award honors government entities and individuals who put workplace experience together with ingenuity to make citizen services work better, faster, and cheaper.
While the achievement of dollar savings is often emphasized in nominations, the innovative refinements of governmental operations and ingenious changes to processes and procedures that save staff and processing time are equally worthy of recognition.
While the achievement of dollar savings is often emphasized in nominations, the innovative refinements of governmental operations and ingenious changes to processes and procedures that save staff and processing time are equally worthy of recognition.
The Clark County Social Services Department (Social Services) received the 28th Annual Cashman Good Government Award for its Hospital 2 Home (H2H) program.
The H2H program supports individuals with complex discharge needs, easing their transition from hospital to home. By reducing long-term hospital stays, the program frees critical community resources and increases access to hospital beds. Annually, the H2H program serves 744 individuals, generating an estimated $11.9 million in return on investment by preventing costly 30-day readmissions, demonstrating both the program's impact on patient care and its value to the broader healthcare system.
The Clark County Commission is asked to recognize Social Services, along with their non-profit partner, Nevada Senior Services, for their well-deserved recognition.
