BACKGROUND:
This Contract will provide services to meet the housing and medical needs of participants with acute medical conditions who need follow-up medical services that would otherwise require them to remain in care at a hospital or use outpatient clinical services, but unable to complete a course of treatment because of their transiency and lack of stable housing with HELP of Southern Nevada (NBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because HELP of Southern Nevada has been the subrecipient of grant funds from US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded to Clark County under the Healthy Living program since 2012. Help of Southern Nevada has operated the program successfully since inception meeting in the intensive case management, housing navigation, and supportive service needs of clients.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract is from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025, and includes the option to renew for 4, one-year periods and includes a 3-month extension.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature.
HELP of Southern Nevada currently holds a Clark County Business License.
