BACKGROUND:

On May 17, 2001, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) approved funding for the construction of Sandy Valley, Columbia Pass and Miami Street project (No. PW.R00120A) from development taxes and RTC Highway Improvement Acquisition Funds.

The Board of County Commissioners approved Interlocal Contract No. 373 on June 5, 2001, to allocate funding for engineering and future funding for right-of-way acquisition and construction for street improvements for Columbia Pass Road and Miami Street from Eagle Avenue to Quartz Avenue for the subject project.  The Board approved Supplemental Nos. 1 through 4 to this contract to increase total funds for construction; revise the scope to include Osage Street from Quartz Avenue to Onyx Avenue to be consistent with the adopted priorities of the Sandy Valley Citizens Advisory Council (SVCAC); revise the scope to include resurfacing of existing roads within SVCAC; and extend the contract term.

The attached Supplemental No. 5 to this interlocal contract will extend the contract term from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2026, in order to complete the project.

This project is budgeted in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund in Fiscal Year 2021.  RTC approved the supplemental contract at its meeting on April 8, 2021.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the supplemental contract as to form.
