BACKGROUND:

On July 1, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners approved the submittal of the FY2025-2029 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Consolidated Plan and the FY2025 Action Plan for Housing and Community Development (the Plan), and HUD subsequently approved the Plan.  The Plan includes a summary of the funding expenditures for the County's HUD entitlement grants, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

The purpose of this agenda item is to request approval to reprogram $1,313,985.67 in FY2025-2029 CDBG funds to the Southern Nevada Children’s Advocacy Center (SNCAC) project.

These reprogrammed funds will support minor rehabilitation of the SNCAC building, located at 1401 Mineral Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89106.  The SNCAC is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary one‑stop center that will serve as the central hub for Clark County’s response to child abuse, neglect, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC).

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
