BACKGROUND:
On March 4, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) selected The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (NBE) for New Fire Training Center & Site Improvements with Parking Garage, pursuant to Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 607319-24.
This Contract is for construction services for New Fire Training Center & Site Improvements. The project will involve demolishing the existing structures on the 6.26 acre site and constructing a new, state-of-the-art facility to include a three-story parking garage with a two-story training center, 8,400 s.f. fire station, premanufactured burn tower and a maintenance building. This new layout will maximize the use of the 6.26 acres, providing ample space for training exercises and future expansion.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract shall be from the date of the Notice to Proceed through Final Completion of Construction Services.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 338.16935, contract between construction manager at risk for certain construction services.
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company currently holds a Clark County Business License.
