BACKGROUND:

Get Outdoors Nevada (GON) is a non-profit organization working to improve community and the environment by connecting residents to Southern Nevada's special outdoor places.  The County Park's mission is to create fulfilling opportunities for the community through diverse experiences.

As such, GON and the County agree to partner together to provide immersive, experiential, interpretive programs and experiences for youth in Clark County.  These programs will teach students important safety and stewardship information in class, which will be followed by excursions to Southern Nevada's public lands.  Although these programs and trips will highlight many aspects of public lands, specific objectives include:

1.
Working as a group to develop team-building skills.
2.
Provide an immersive hiking/exploring experience, not possible on typical field trips.
3.
Promote the importance of nature conservation.
4.
Promote the importance of water conservation.

This agreement will be effective for the 2023 calendar year for summer programming and restricted to the following months:  June, July, and August.  Either party may terminate without cause with 14 days written notice to the other party.

Staff recommends approval of the Agreement.  The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the Agreement as to form.
