BACKGROUND:

On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional service providers for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023.  GCW, Inc. was selected from this pre-qualification list, [Service] Structural - Transportation and Flood Control, to provide engineering services for the project, including the design of a pedestrian bridge along the existing CC 215 Beltway Trail on the west side of the CC 215 Beltway over Charleston Boulevard.

County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with GCW, Inc.  The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2025, unless time extensions are granted.  The project improvements to be designed include a prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge, cast-in-place concrete ramps, plantmix bituminous trail to connect to existing trail, trail lighting, signing, striping, and other necessary appurtenances to construct a complete and functional project.

GCW, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.

Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
