BACKGROUND:
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Intersection Improvements: Package A project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Fund for Fiscal Year 2024.Interlocal Contract No. 3166 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The project consists of traffic signal improvements at Gilespie Street and Pebble Road, Gilespie Street and Starr Avenue, Dean Martin Drive and Starr Avenue, and Pyle Avenue and Pollock Drive. The improvements include new traffic signal installations, striping, median modifications, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and streetlight undergrounds. All necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained and Clark County is ready to advertise the project for construction. The time of performance is effective until December 31, 2029, unless time extensions are granted.RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on June 13, 2024.The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
