BACKGROUND:
The claim is a result of a motor vehicle accident on February 27, 2025, whereby the Clark County vehicle failed to stop and rear-ended the claimant's vehicle. The total medical treatment was at $92,504.00 with various future procedures alleged.Through review of the claims, the Clark County District Attorney's Office - Civil Division determined that $175,000 would be a reasonable settlement for the claims alleged and authorized Carl Warren to negotiate settlement up to that amount. This offer, however, was rejected and the claimant filed suit. In order to receive the strategic benefit of amounts already offered in pre-litigation in this matter, the Clark County District Attorney's Office - Civil Division now seeks authority to serve a formal offer of judgment in the amount of $175,000 pursuant to NRCP 68 to Janelle Newman. The proposed offer of judgment has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
