BACKGROUND:
On May 5, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved the submission of FY2020-2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), approved a project list, and authorized staff to submit the CDBG Pre-Award Approval Request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and subsequently approved the FY2020-2024 CDBG CIP.
The CIP included an allocation of $4,242,019 to Bridge Counseling Associates, Inc., a nonprofit providing individual and family counseling in Southern Nevada for the additional and renovation to their facility. Due to increase in costs, an additional $657,478 is needed to meet the current market pricing for materials and labor. CDBG administrative cost savings will be reallocated to the project.
This capital improvement project will involve two phases. Project One will add a building expansion providing transitional living space for 120+ adults in shared spaces and a 20 bed women's residential shelter. Project Two will renovate an out-structure as a Nevada licensed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility with up to 20 beds for patients under 18.
