There is no fiscal impact on County funds. The County acts as fiscal agent for the State of Nevada in collecting the special assessment charges and remitting the charges to the State. |
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to NRS 534.040, the State Engineer requests the Board of County Commissioners levy the following special assessments, which is an equal proportional charge against each taxable property in the subject basins:
Indian Springs Valley (161) $2,000.00
Mesquite Valley (Sandy Valley) (163) $4,500.00
Las Vegas Artesian Basin (212) $2,250,000.00
Colorado River Valley (213) $5,000.00
Black Mountains Area (215) $4,000.00
Garnet Valley (216) $3,000.00
Virgin River Valley (222) $5,000.00
The State Engineer also requests the Board of County Commissioners levy the following special assessments against each water user based on the water used by each holder of water rights in the subject basin:
Lower Meadow Valley Wash (205) $3,092.26 (see attached list)
Coyote Springs Valley (210) $6,820.00 (see attached list)
Hidden Valley (217) $880.00 (see attached list)
California Wash (218) $69.18 (see attached list
