Additional Comments: |
Allocate $22,900,000 from Room Tax collections: $7,200,000 to the Hollywood Regional Park Multiuse Ballfield Complex and $15,700,000 to the Sunset Regional Park Little League Ballfield Renovation (Fields 3-6). |
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to the Board of County Commissioners’ 2013 resolution establishing criteria for parks and recreational facilities of regional significance, the Clark County Finance Department solicited applications for Room and Gaming Collection Fees / Regional Parks Funding in April 2026. Six (6) applications were received from four jurisdictions, Boulder City, the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, and the City of North Las Vegas requesting a combined total of $66,600,000.
Following review of each application against the eligibility criteria established by the 2013 resolution, and consideration of project readiness, funding urgency, and existing funding obligations, the recommendation is to allocate $22,900,000 to two active Clark County projects. The Hollywood Regional Park Multiuse Ballfield Complex ($7,200,000) is an active, SNPLMA obligated project that cannot be reduced in scope; failure to close its funding gap risks the County’s existing SNPLMA agreement. The Sunset Regional Park Little League Ballfield Renovation ($15,700,000) will modernize four ballfields at a park originally developed in 1968, with fields constructed in 1970 and no significant renovation performed since; the fields have reached the end of their useful service life.
