BACKGROUND:
NRS 258.040 provides that the Board of County Commissioners shall fix the minimum compensation of the Clark County Constables within their respective townships for the ensuing term. Thereafter, the Board may increase or change such compensation during the term but shall not reduce the minimum so established. Staff recommends that the Board approve the minimum annual salary paid in 26 equal installments for the term commencing on January 2, 2023, as follows:

The Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on July 20, 2010, voted to eliminate longevity pay for newly elected Constables elected in the November 2, 2010, election and any election or initial appointment thereafter. For Constables first elected prior to November 2, 2010, eligibility for longevity pay will be retained.
