BACKGROUND:
On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional services providers for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023. GCW, Inc. (Corporation) was selected from the pre-qualification list category, [Services] Highway Engineering - Freeway Design, to provide engineering services for roadway improvements for the Clark County 215 Bruce Woodbury Beltway between Charleston Boulevard and Craig Road Widening project.
County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with GCW, Inc. The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms. The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2025, unless time extensions are granted. The project improvements include hot mix asphaltic concrete and/or Portland cement concrete pavement with ultra-thin asphalt concrete surfacing overlay providing eight mainline travel lanes from Summerlin Parkway to Lone Mountain Road, six mainline lanes from Lone Mountain Road to Craig Road, northbound auxiliary lane between Charleston Boulevard on-ramp and Far Hills Avenue off-ramp, two-lane northbound on-ramp at Charleston Boulevard, two-lane northbound off-ramp at Far Hills Avenue, southbound auxiliary lane between Far Hills Avenue on-ramp and Charleston Boulevard off-ramp, two-lane southbound off-ramp at Charleston Boulevard, southbound two-lane ramp at Cheyenne Avenue, traffic control devices, pavement markings, signing, Intelligent Transportation System, roadside safety devices, horizontal and vertical transitions, and related appurtenances necessary to make a good, complete, and serviceable project.
GCW, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.
The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
