BACKGROUND:
Two (2) current permanent positions have been identified that are funded from the District Attorney Bad Check Unit (BCU) Fund 2260.000. The positions and classifications are Senior Attorney (PID 1000557) (A03) and Office Specialist (PID 10005930) (C22).
In January of 2023, the Resort Corridor Court (RCC) was created to have all crime committed in the Resort Corridor into a single courtroom. The objective is to lower crime on the Strip, which should improve the overall visitor experience.
With the increased need for more positions to support the RCC cases and a decreased need for positions to support the Bad Check Unit cases, the Board is being asked to authorize the funding change from the District Attorney Bad Unit Fund 2260.000 to District Attorney Criminal Division County General Fund 1010.000 for these two (2) permanent positions for the RCC.
