BACKGROUND:
The proposed 2024 Mechanical Code replaces the current 2018 edition.
The Southern Nevada Amendments to the 2024 Uniform Mechanical Code were developed jointly by the Southern Nevada Building Officials and the local construction industry through committee hearings and actions.
Adopting and enforcing the 2024 Uniform Mechanical Code with the Southern Nevada Amendments will provide for improved construction methods and materials, contribute to consistency in construction of new mechanical installations in Clark County, and keep Clark County consistent with the State of Nevada Public Works Division and State Fire Marshal's Office, both of which have already adopted the 2024 Uniform Mechanical Code.
The ordinance was introduced at the July 1, 2025, Board of County Commissioners' meeting, and a public hearing is scheduled for July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Staff recommends approval of the ordinance to amend Title 25, Chapter 25.16 of the Clark County Code.
