BACKGROUND: 

The proposed ordinance will amend Title 13, Chapter 4 of the Clark County Code by adding section 13.04.275 relating to the design, operation, maintenance, and commissioning of single lane tunnel systems designated Chapter 42 of the International Fire Code.

The proposed ordinance was introduced at the Board of County Commissioners’ meeting on May 5, 2026 and a public hearing was set for May 19, 2026 at 10 a.m.

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance to amend Title 13, Chapter 13.04 of the Clark County Code.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the proposed ordinance as to form.
