BACKGROUND:
Clark County, on behalf of the Department of Social Service (CCSS), requests that the Board of County Commissioners ratify the approval and the acceptance of the Notice of Subaward to support the salary (C30 Annually), travel, and other expenses for Regional Behavioral Health Coordination for Clark County from the State of Nevada, Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) due July 26, 2021.
The mission of the State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health is to protect, promote, and improve the physical and behavioral health of the people of Nevada. The state has awarded non-competitive funds to each jurisdiction in Nevada, including Clark County, to support the salary, travel, and other expenses for Regional Behavioral Health Coordination since 2017. CCSS hired a Regional Behavioral Health Coordinator (C30Annually) in 2017, in response to the original award and to address the objectives and goals of the program.
As the program has matured since its inception, the Behavioral Health Coordinator's role has changed, and staffing needs have emerged to allow for the addition of programs and services in our community. To fully engage a community as dense as Clark County, maintain relationships with providers, and provide regional oversight, DPBH has awarded continued funding for one (1) position. This position is a Senior Management Analyst (C30Annually), who will serve as a lead of the program development and implementation and to conduct evaluation components for each goal set forth in the notice of subgrant award.
CCSS has requested $111,760 for twelve (12) months of funding for this purpose. This project has a start date of October 1, 2021 and ends September 29, 2022.
The item has been approved as to form by the District Attorney's office.
