BACKGROUND:
The claim is the result of a motor vehicle accident on May 20, 2025, whereby the County vehicle was traveling south on Mohave, at the Desert Inn intersection, the County driver thought he was too far out in the intersection. The County driver backed up and struck the front of the claimant's vehicle. The total medical treatment was at $17,105.40 not including estimated costs for potential future medical bills. Through negotiations with legal counsel for the claimant, the claimant has agreed to accept $37,500 in settlement of the bodily injury claim to avoid any further costs and legal expenses of possible litigation in this case. If the settlement is approved, the County would also avoid costs and expenses of any future litigation.The proposed settlement has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
