BACKGROUND:

As the lead agency for the Clark County "Urban County" HOME Consortium, Clark County administers federal  HOME funds from HUD and HOME/AAHTF monies from the State of Nevada. Clark County's CDAC met on January 17, 2023, to hear presentations from organizations proposing to carry out affordable housing activities and to prioritize projects to allocate funding. After extensive analysis and discussion, on February 21, 2023, CDAC voted on a recommendation for projects to be funded. Six (6) new construction projects were recommended this year; one (1) project will provide 50 units of affordable permanent supportive housing, two (2) projects will provide 134 units of affordable housing to seniors, two (2) projects will provide 277 units of affordable family housing, and one (1) project will provide 50 units of affordable inter-generational family housing.

The Board of County Commissioners has final authority over the allocation of these monies, subject to the County meeting federal requirements. Staff has submitted a list of project recommendations for Board consideration that incorporates CDAC's recommendations. The Board of County Commissioners will also be asked to reserve the pro-rata share of HOME/AHTF monies for the City of North Las Vegas, our Consortium partner.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
