BACKGROUND:

The State of Nevada, Department of Health and Human Services is the administering agency for the Fund for a Resilient Nevada (FRN) to fund opioid abatement in Nevada. FRN is established in Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 433.712 through 433.744 and funding is guided by the Nevada Opioid Needs Assessment and Statewide Plan.

The Non-Congregate Shelter Substance Use Disorder (NCS-SUD) Program was designed to address target area four (4) which is to provide behavioral health treatment. The award amount will not exceed $750,000 per year, as defined in the notice of funding opportunity, and may be renewed if substantial progress is made in Year 1 of the program.

This agenda item requests ratification and approval to submit the application for the FRN allocation due to the short turn-around time between the posting of the notice of funding opportunity and the deadline for application submission.

This item has been approved as to form by the District Attorney's office.
