BACKGROUND:
On August 7, 2025, the Clark County Building Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee (the Committee) received a report on the financial condition of the Building Fund (5340). Included in current assets is cash received from non-recurring revenue as a result of significant construction projects within the strip resort corridor. Cash proceeds from non-recurring revenue is typically designated for extraordinary items that are considered unusual and/or unforeseen or other non-recurring expenses such as capital outlay. The Building Fund (5340) has identified $17,100,000 in capital needs through fiscal year 2030. In an effort to meet the Building Department's capital needs and maintain stability in permit fees, the Committee voted to recommend the designation of cash in the amount of $17,100,000 for future capital outlay and extraordinary items.
