Contract for Security Guard Services

This funding increase of 1,330,445.82 will bring the total Contract amount to $23,140,236.67

 

BACKGROUND: 

On May 2, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of Bid No. 606493-22 to Designated Defense Security Services (SBE) in the amount of $21,809,790.85 should all renewal options be exercised, with increased user requirements included for Security Guard Services.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:

                     The term of the Contract was from date of award through June 30, 2024 and included the option to renew                      for 4, one-year periods and included a 90-day extension. There are 2 renewal options remaining.
                     Included the option to increase the award amount up to 10%.
                     Included the option to increase the award amount up to 3% for possible price increases for renewal terms.
                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract                      with advanced written notice.

This approval allows for the increase of the user requirements from 10% to 25% for each of the remaining contract terms, to support increased security service needs, including election-related activities.

Designated Defense Security Services currently holds a Clark County Business License.
