BACKGROUND: 

On February 12, 2021 the Board of County Commissioners authorized the Director of the Department of Aviation to submit a request to the Federal Aviation Administration to rename the McCarran International Airport.  All costs in connection with the name change are required to be funded by private donations. On April 6, 2021 the Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the acceptance of monetary donations to the LAS Name Change account to be reported to the Board quarterly.
