BACKGROUND: 

Each year before the filing of the Tentative Budget on April 15, a preliminary tentative budget meeting is held to review the recommendations from the County Manager and the Department of Finance for the purpose of direction from the Board.  The Department of Finance will present a brief synopsis of the current Fiscal Year's (2026) financial status and the proposed Fiscal Year (2027) General Fund budget.  The Board is being asked to review the General Fund budget and direct staff accordingly.
