BACKGROUND:

This Competitive Bidding Exception is for the purchase of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and associated Power Resistors (together comprising a "unit"). The units currently in use as part of the Airport's Baggage Handling System (BHS) have reached end of life performance, which impacts the system's operations. The replacement of the current units with new compatible units will help eliminate these failures and ensure efficient BHS operations.

Codale Electric Supply, Inc. (Company) is the approved distributor for the State of Nevada for the units which are compatible with the current BHS.

The term of the approval is from date of award through September 30, 2028.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(a), items which may only be contracted from a sole source; and (d), equipment which, by reason of the training of the personnel or of an inventory of replacement parts maintained by the local government is compatible with existing equipment and is therefore exempt from competitive bidding requirements.

Company currently holds a Clark County Business License.
