BACKGROUND:

Rio Virgin Telephone Company has submitted an application for a telecommunication system franchise agreement with the County to replace its current franchise agreement to be able to continue constructing, operating and maintaining a telecommunication system within the Town of Bunkerville. Pursuant to NRS 709.070, this application was accepted by the Board on April 16, 2024.

In accordance with NRS 709.070, public notice has been published in a local newspaper for four consecutive weeks and posted in three public locations in the town of Bunkerville at least ten days before May 21, 21024, when the public hearing was held to consider granting the telecommunication franchise. No objections were received regarding the granting of this franchise. The Board directed staff to finalize the terms of the franchise agreement with Rio Virgin Telephone Company.

Staff is recommending that the Board approve the attached Telecommunications System Franchise Agreement with Rio Virgin Telephone Company.
