HOME/LIHTF Amendment - The Betty Jeanne Apartments |

BACKGROUND:
On June 20, 1995, the Board of County Commissioners awarded $310,000 in Low Income Housing Trust Fund (LIHTF) to Golden Rule, Inc. (GRI) for the purchase and rehabilitation of Parson's Place Apartments, a 58-unit single room occupancy building located at 624 E. Stewart, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Additional funds from the County HOME Program and the City of Las Vegas HOME/LIHTF Programs were also awarded through separate Resolutions and the periods of affordability on those funds have expired. However, the period of affordability for the $310,000 in LIHTF funding will not expire for another 10 years.
On October 16, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners approved an resolution amendment to reduce the number of units required for the remaining years of the period of affordability while NHSSN dedicated 10 floating units to the Continuum of Care through referrals from the Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry system.
The expansion of referrals from not only the Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry system but also other means serves to increase the number of referrals to The Betty Jeanne apartments and increased utilization of the 10 floating units.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this amendment as to form.
