BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS) is receiving supplemental American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds in order to maintain the ability to retain/recruit specialized foster care providers for DFS youth.

These funds will provide an additional financial reimbursement for approximately 352 DFS youth monthly in specialized foster care.

The award process for this grant differs from the normal grant application process as funding is made available to the State and passed through to DFS as a subrecipient without application submission or competitive process.  The State has made the grant award in accordance with NRS353.263.

Staff requests the Board approve and accept any funds awarded.
