Initial contract amount was $500,000 and Supplemental Nos. 1 and 2 combined amounts increased the contract by $3,000,000. Supplemental No. 3 increase of $500,000 increases the total value to $4,000,000. RTC will continue to provide funding for all costs associated with this project. Clark County is not obligated to pay any of the costs.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On November 18, 2021, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) approved Interlocal Contract No. 1319 for the RTC Traffic Signal Detection project (Public Works Project No. PW.R262CFT) to repair and replace traffic signal detection devices at various locations throughout jurisdictions within Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, City of Boulder City, and City of Mesquite (collectively "Entities"). The Board of County Commissioners approved this contract on December 7, 2021.

Two supplementals to Interlocal Contract No. 1319 were previously approved to increase total funds to procure and install detection systems at intersections identified to have faulty detection, and to repair and replace specified detection equipment devices and other supporting equipment and infrastructure.

Supplemental No. 3 to Interlocal Contract No. 1319 increases construction funds to repair and replace specified detection equipment devices and other supporting equipment and infrastructure.

RTC approved the third supplemental contract at its meeting on November 9, 2023.

Each of the Entities is scheduled to approve the third supplemental contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the third supplemental contract as to form.
