BACKGROUND:

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) has selected the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner (CCOCME) to receive subgrant funding in the amount of $80,00 to support CCOCME's Medicolegal Death Investigation (MDI) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) implementation guide project.

Project activities will include participating in virtual and in-person collaborative meetings, conducting testing of the MDI FHIR implementation guide and disseminating findings to the broader MDI community.

The subgrant will fund a data Project Manager, software and office supplies. The Project Manager will assist in agency representation and formation of the MDI FHIR implementation guide by assisting with streamlining software and reporting processes that aid in real time analysis and data collection methods between CCOCME and MDI offices.

Based upon the previous successes of the CCOCME participation in federal and state grant programs, it is recommended that the Board approve the ratification of this subgrant from The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and accept funds awarded on behalf of the CCOCME. This subgrant is now before the Board of County Commission for ratification given CCOCME is a subgrantee of The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials who applied for the grant.

The following are pertinent provisions of the contract:
• The term of the contract is from April 1, 2025 through July 31, 2025.
• This contract includes the County's option to terminate with advanced written notice.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 277.180, the parties are authorized to enter into interlocal contracts to perform governmental functions and activities.
