BACKGROUND:

The Community Court Misdemeanor Treatment Court program was awarded $180,600 in State Opioid Response grant funding from the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public and Behavioral Health to enhance substance abuse treatment and wrap around services. This program furthers the Department’s mission to fund priority treatment and support services for indigent, uninsured and under-insured individuals.

During the grant period, Community Court seeks to enhance its Misdemeanor Treatment Court program via
this project to assist approximately eight indigent, uninsured and under-insured participants struggling with cessation by providing detoxification services, enhanced levels of treatment (inpatient, partial hospitalization), outpatient, safe and sober housing, electronic monitoring and random drug testing. The grant funding will also provide mass transit passes allowing participants travel to treatment, random drug testing, and court dates. In addition, the Court team will attend the annual National Association of Drug Court Professionals conference. Attached hereto is the grant application.
