Third Party Administrator (TPA) Services for Clark County Workers’ Compensation

Additional Comments:

The total Contract award is estimated in the amount not to exceed $4,000,000 should all renewal options be exercised.  This amount is subject to change as the actual Contract amount is based on the number of workers’ compensation claims processed.

 

BACKGROUND: 

This Contract is for CorVel Enterprise Comp (NBE) to provide third party administrator services that will ensure that injured employees receive benefits in accordance with NRS 616 and 617, including but not limited to the continuation of workers' compensation payment, medical case management and rehabilitation therapy referral, and that benefits are received in a timely manner.

A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because CorVel Enterprise Comp has a working knowledge of claims currently in process.  In addition, with the upcoming Legislative session, CorVel Enterprise Comp's institutional knowledge and understanding of the County's processes will assist us in an expedient and smooth implementation of any changes.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
                     The term of the Contract is from April 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 and includes the option to                      renew for 4, one-year periods.
                     Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with                      advanced written notice.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature.

CorVel Enterprise Comp currently holds a Clark County Business License.
