BACKGROUND:

Clark County received $735,457 in FY 2024/2025 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. Local nonprofit agencies applied for funding detailing proposed projects, budgets, and information concerning their nonprofit status and agency management.  The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) and Southern Nevada Continuum of Care Programs Committee reviewed all applications and then recommended projects that would most closely support Southern Nevada's initiative to end homelessness and made allocation recommendations accordingly.

On March 19, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved the recommended funding allocations including $70,770 in FY2024-2025 ESG funds to Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN).

In January 2026, LSSN advised the Community Housing Office (CHO) of their inability to execute the program and spend their 2024-2025 award.

On May 5, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners approved the reallocation of the funds initially awarded in the amount of $70,770 to Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) to be split according to provisions made by the CDAC to Family Promise of Las Vegas, St. Jude's Ranch for Children, The Salvation Army, and Vegas Stronger to provide homelessness prevention services.  Because of a typographical error in the amount allocated to Family Promise of Las Vegas on that agenda item, this item is being presented for correction and documentation purposes.

Staff is requesting approval of the LSSN funding of $70,770 to be reallocated to:  Family Promise of Las Vegas ($25,223); St. Jude's Ranch for Children ($25,223); The Salvation Army ($3,815); and Vegas Stronger ($16,509).
