BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the James Regional Sports Park Trail Undercrossings project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Fund for Fiscal Year 2025.

Interlocal Contract No. 3196 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The project consists of two pedestrian trail undercrossings that are 14-foot-wide by 10-foot-high cast-in-place reinforced concrete boxes. The proposed trail undercrossings will tie into a park trail that is currently under construction. This project will allow pedestrians to cross underneath Robindale Road and eliminate the at-grade crossings. There is one west undercrossing near Durango Drive and an east undercrossing near Buffalo Drive. All necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained, and Clark County is ready to advertise the project for construction. The time of performance is effective until December 31, 2029, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on November 14, 2024.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
