Additional Comments:

Initial contract amount was $210,000 and Supplemental Nos. 1 through 4 combined amounts increased contract by $268,867.31 for a total of $478,867.31.  Supplemental No. 5 increase of $56,750 revises the total contract value to $535,617.31.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On April 18, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners approved a professional engineering services contract with VTN Nevada to provide engineering services for the design of the Laughlin Lagoon Maintenance Dredging for Special Improvement District No. 162 project.

The Board previously approved four supplementals to the professional engineering services contract for additional engineering and/or post-design services; sonar mapping and restoration monitoring of the Laughlin Lagoon; finalize the Laughlin Lagoon Maintenance Dredging plan for Special Improvement District No. 162B; extend the contract term to finalize the harvest and planting of cattails and bullrush plugs within the pre-selected one-acre restoration area; perform more sonar mapping; and to finalize the Laughlin Lagoon Maintenance Management Plan to ensure compliance with the Biological Opinion prepared by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The attached Supplemental No. 5 to the professional engineering services contract with VTN Nevada increases total funds for additional engineering services to review and identify permitting needs, as well as perform a survey and evaluation of the Laughlin Lagoon; plus extends the time of performance to June 30, 2023, unless further time extensions are granted.

VTN Nevada currently holds a Clark County Business License.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the fifth supplemental contract as to form.
