BACKGROUND:
NRS 379.020 provides that the Clark County Board of County Commissioners (County Commission) appoint five (5) competent persons who are residents of the county to serve as district library trustees.
There are two (2) vacancies on the Boulder City Library District Board of Trustees (Board of Trustees). James Knowles served as a member of the Board of Trustees from June 15, 2021 until September 3, 2023. He has expressed a desire to be reappointed. Additionally, Hollie Surrat resigned from the Board of Trustees in May 2023. Her seat has remained vacant since that time, and the term expires on June 1, 2026.
The Board of Trustees have recommended reappointment of James Knowles. He will serve a new term until September 5, 2027. Additionally, the Board of Trustees approved Robin Coppola to fill the seat vacated by Hollie Surrat. She will serve until June 1, 2026.
The County Commission is asked to re-appoint James Knowles for a four-year (4-year) term ending September 5, 2027, and appoint Robbin Coppola for the remainder of a term ending June 1, 2026.
