Clark County Board of Commissioners
| Approved as Recommended
Agenda note: SPEAKER(S): Present
DISCUSSION: Following introduction of the item, the Board was addressed by Ed Uehling who spoke regarding areas of concern including the contract to clean the channels; requested that the homeless camps be removed; and advised that the Tropicana channel near the airport was not included in the contract.
Denis Cederburg, the Director of Public Works, advised that the contract was for cleaning concrete channels; the amendment added the homeless clean-up component to the contract, which was previously billed separately; reduces the removal price per cubic yard; and further advised that the airport channel, which runs between Tropicana Avenue and Harmon Avenue, needs to be scheduled in advance with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Social Services; and the majority of the department’s flood control work involves clean-up work and outreach with the homeless. | Pass |
