Description:	Flood Control Channel Maintenance and Homeless Encampment Cleanup
Additional Comments:	The initial Contract amount was $5,262,122.48.   Amendment No. 1 has no fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND: 

On February 3, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of Bid No. 605675-20 to Brightview Landscape Services Inc (NBE) in the amount of $5,262,122.48 for the monthly maintenance of nine flood control channels and cleanup of homeless encampment located within and directly adjacent to the nine identified flood control channels.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
•                     The term of the Contract was from date of award through August 31, 2021 and included the option to                      renew for 4, one-year periods. There are 4 renewal options remaining.
•                     Included the option to increase the award amount up to 20% based on possible increased user                      requirements for the renewal terms and approved budget appropriations.
•                     Included the option to increase the award amount up to 3% for possible price increases for renewal terms.
•                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract                      with advanced written notice.

Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for the reduction of unit price per cubic yard from $320 to $225 for the homeless encampment cleanup and provide copies of additional requirements from Brightview Landscape Services Inc.  The attached Amendment No. 1 document details of modifications and cost savings involved.

Brightview Landscape Services Inc currently holds a Clark County Business License.
