BACKGROUND:
A contract renewal Resolution was approved by the Board of County Commissions (Board) on August 19, 2003, and amended on September 8, 2004, and July 17, 2012. This Resolution delegates authority to the Chief Financial Officer, as the Authorized Representative responsible for the County's Purchasing and Contracts Division, the Director of Aviation, as the Authorized Representative for the County's Department of Aviation, the Chief Executive Officer, as the Authorized Representative for the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, and the General Manager, as the Authorized Representative for the Clark County Water Reclamation District, or their respective designees, to exercise renewal options in order to facilitate the day-to-day operations of each respective entity.
For Clark County and Department of Aviation, this amendment to that Resolution will change the limit on the renewal options of contracts from five (5) years to seven (7) years or up to ten (10) years with the approval of the County Manager, or their designee.
For University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and Clark County Water Reclamation District, this amendment to that Resolution will change the limit on the renewal options of contracts from five (5) years to up to ten (10) years.
In instances where the total contract term is required to exceed the ten-year period, the respective Board will be notified in the agenda item as to the reason for the deviation from the established guidelines.
