BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Mount Charleston, Echo Road between Spruce Road and Mary Jane Big Falls Road project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3243 provides funds for design of the subject project, within the town of Mount Charleston. The improvements along Echo Road from 700 feet west of Spruce Road to Mary Jane Big Falls Road will consist of removal and replacement of asphaltic pavement, removal and installation of concrete cut-off walls, berm, culvert with headwall, utility adjustments and relocations, and other related items of work. The term of the contract is effective until December 31, 2030, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3243 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on December 11, 2025.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
