BACKGROUND:
On March 18, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved a Department of Aviation (DOA) Surplus Land Sale Policy that outlines the responsibilities, processes and procedures to be followed by Clark County (County) during the sale of DOA surplus land to private parties at public auction. The DOA requested that the Department of Real Property Management sell surplus land totaling ±70.16 acres (Property).
On August 5, 2025, the Board approved the Resolutions of Intent to Sell Real Property at Public Auction for each of the fifteen (15) sale units. The Notice of Sale was published and posted, and the 48-hour online auction was conducted on September 22, 2025 through September 24, 2025 according to the procedures set forth in NRS 244.282. Prior to the auction, staff removed one sale unit. The results of the auction, including the projected winning bidders, back-up bidders and respective bid amounts, are listed in the attached table for the Board's consideration. The name of the buyer, or the backup buyer in the event that the winning bidder fails to meet the earnest money deposit deadline, and the purchase price will be added to each resolution for execution by the Chair after acceptance by the Board.
The sale proceeds (amount of the bid for the property that Clark County accepts) for applicable sale units will be distributed under the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998 (SNPLMA) as follows: 85% to the Bureau of Land Management, 5% to the State of Nevada, and the remainder to the DOA. The properties subject to SNPLMA are sale units 1 through 13.
Sale units A and B are not subject to SNPLMA and the sale proceeds will be distributed to DOA.
