BACKGROUND: 

The proposed ordinance will amend Title 13, Chapter 04 of the Clark County Code by adding section 13.04.275 relating to the design, operation, maintenance, and commissioning of single lane tunnel systems designated Chapter 42 of the International Fire Code.

A Business Impact Statement (BIS) was prepared pursuant to NRS 237 and noticed and for public comment beginning on March 23, 2026.

Staff recommends that the ordinance be introduced and a public hearing be set for May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the proposed ordinance as to form.
