BACKGROUND: 

Mount Charleston Fire Protection District (District) operates as a fire protection district organized pursuant to NRS 474.460.  The Mount Charleston firefighters must work under the direction of a licensed Medical Director; and require a review of all pre-hire physicals, oversight of narcotic/controlled substances utilized in the course of its Emergency Medical Service (EMS) work and its EMS protocols.  The Medical Director maintains experience and expertise in emergency medical care and transportation of critically ill or injured patients in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Southern Nevada Health District and the State of Nevada, Department of Human Resources, Health Division.

Dr. Ryan Hodnick, DO, NREMT-P has significant experience in Medical oversight of Fire Department personnel.  It is requested that the Board of Fire Commissioners approve this agreement.
